Māori Design Ring
A 12.5mm wide Sterling Silver band with an attractive koru design nestled in-between rails that seem to frame the Māori design. The ring has a small panel at the back so it can be easily sized if needed.
A bit about The Native Plant Collection.
Embracing her national heritage, Maree has respectively used Māori patterns and Koru's in her designs while still keeping the unmistakable shape of some of the loved and well known native plants in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Koru's are an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where they symbolize new life, growth, strength, and peace.
Māori culture and nature are related to each other, and to the people of the land. This is why Maree thought it was important to combine the two elements in her designs.
Māori have strong spiritual bonds to the land, Papatuanuku, the Earth Mother. She provides unity and identity to her people and sustains them. It is important that we protect our land and water from erosion, deforestation and inappropriate land use.
Maree hopes that her jewellery will speak to all cultures and that people will love and appreciate the two connections.
