Hibiscus Ring with Garnet
The Hibiscus Ring has been crafted in Sterling Silver. The petals stretch out to roughly 18mm in dimeter and have had a vintage blackening finish to enhance the details in the flower petals. A 2.5mm round garnet represents the vibrant colour of the hibiscus flower. Please enquire if you would like a different stone or no stone at all.
A bit about The Native Plant Collection.
Embracing her national heritage, Maree has respectively used Māori patterns and Koru's in her designs while still keeping the unmistakable shape of some of the loved and well known native plants in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Koru's are an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where they symbolize new life, growth, strength, and peace.
Māori culture and nature are related to each other, and to the people of the land. This is why Maree thought it was important to combine the two elements in her designs.
Māori have strong spiritual bonds to the land, Papatuanuku, the Earth Mother. She provides unity and identity to her people and sustains them. It is important that we protect our land and water from erosion, deforestation and inappropriate land use.
Maree hopes that her jewellery will speak to all cultures and that people will love and appreciate the two connections.
